OREANDA-NEWS. On December 23, 2008 ООО Vostokenergo – the power generating unit of DTEK – has allotted UAH148 thousand to sponsor opening of the early rehabilitation centre for children “Vognik Nadiya” (“Beam of Hope”) in Kurakovo, Donetsk Oblast. The new centre will provide an opportunity to study for the 4-18 year old children who cannot attend a school or a kindergarten through illness, reported the press-centre of SCM.

Opening of the Centre has become possible owing to the joint efforts of the Labour and Social Security Department of Mariyinka Regional State Administration, the town council of Kurakhovo, Donetsk oblast foundation for disabled people and town-forming company Kurakhovo Thermal Power Station (Vostokenergo, DTEK).

Kurakhovo town council allocated one of unoccupied premises of a kindergarten for the new rehabilitation department. The money provided by Vostokenergo will be spent for renovation and restoration of the heating system of the Centre premises. Funding of this project has been made on the basis of the Social Partnership Agreement between DTEK, OOO Vostokenergo and the town council of Kurakhovo. The cooperation of DTEK and Kurakhovo town council under the children rehabilitation centre project will continue in 2009.
