Titan Supports XIII Traditional Russia Judo Championship
OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2008. XIII Traditional Russia Judo Championship under the aegis of the government of Omsk Region, Russian Judo Federation, Omsk Academy of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Russian Federation and Professional Sport Club "Vityaz" was held from 5 to 7 December in the Center of Olympic Training "Avangard". The tournament is organized in memory of a police colonel Nikolai Anohin and Distinguished Trainer of USSR Anatoly Hmelev, reported the press-centre of Titan.
The competitions gathered 155 judo wrestlers, representing 4 federal districts, 13 territories of Russia, near abroad countries Mongolia, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. Honor of the Omsk school of judo was defended by 27 wrestlers. Among the participants were masters of sport, master of sport candidates and one international class master of sport.
The awards were offered in seven weight classes: 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, 100 and more than 100 kg. In the first category (60 kg) the winner was Omsk resident Timur Muhamettulin, in the class of 66 kg the winner was Aleksey Korenev from Tyumen; from Altay the winner was Yury Sheklein in the class of 81 kg; in the class of 90 kg the award was given to Kamil Magomedov from Novosibirsk, and three winners were from Krasnoyarsk - Aleksandr Kovalevich (Divnogorsk) in the class of 73 kg, Fillip Ivanov (100 kg) and Dmitry Sterhov (more than 100 kg).
On the account of Omsk wrestlers, excluding the victory of Timur Muhamettulin, were bronze awards in individual championship won by Andrey Mordovin (66 kg) and Dmitry Buzynnikov (100 kg). The Omsk sportsmen took another "bronze" in team championship - the so called "showdown", winning 3rd place from the team of Pavlodar. The winner in this championship was the first team of the city of Krasnoyarsk: in the final tour it defeated the team from Chelyabinsk, which previously had managed to defeat the host Omsk team in the semifinal, though applying intensive efforts.
Traditionally the general partner of the competitions was "Group of Companies "Titan", CJSC. For more than ten years (beginning in 1997) the company has been cooperating with Professional Sport Club "Vityaz", supporting young Omsk sportsmen and taking significant part in organization and preparation of the Russian Judo Tournament which commemorates a police colonel Nikolai Anohin and the Distinguished Trainer of the USSR Anatoly Hmelev.
