OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2008.   In Dec 2008 Smolensk NPP generated 1.052bln KWh – 6mln KWh more than planned for the month

Since the beginning of this year Smolensk NPP has produced 20.748bln KWh – 376mln KWh more than planned.

Presently, the 1st and 2nd units are operating safely at a total capacity of 2,011MW.

The 3rd unit is being overhauled: some of its assembly channels are being replaced, equipment is being modernized.

The radiation background at Smolensk NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
