Lukoil Promotes Cooperation with Russian Museums
OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 December 2008 was announced, that LUKOIL provided financial support to the State Tretyakov Gallery to perform restoration of the painting The Judgment of Sanhedrin: He is Guilty! by Nikolay Ge, a famous Russian painter.
The restored painting was presented today to the general public as part of preparatory work for an exhibition of paintings by Nikolay Ge dedicated to the painter’s 180th birthday.
LUKOIL maintains longstanding partnership relations with the State Tretyakov Gallery. For instance, the Company acquired a bas-relief of Mikhail Kozlovsky, a famous Russian painter and sculptor, and presented it to the Gallery for its 150th anniversary. The Company also provided financial support to restore the painting The Portrait of General Vasily Perovsky by Karl Brullov. In 2008 in Finland, the Tretyakov Gallery and the Company jointly organized an exhibition by Russian painters, Magic Landscapes.
The same day, an exposition prepared by LUKOIL’s corporate museum opened within the framework of the exhibition titled National Priorities of Russia. The 21st Century, with the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia serving as a venue.
Inclusion of the LUKOIL display in the Exhibition is yet another stage of cooperation which started in 2006 between the Company and the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia.
