OREANDA-NEWS. On December 18, 2008 VTB and the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF) entered into an agreement granting the Bank a status of a general sponsor of the national women’s basketball team. The Agreement was signed at the ceremony of presenting the annual “Golden Basket Award” for achievements in the national basketball, reported the press-centre of VTB.
 
According to the Agreement, VTB will give sponsorship support to the women’s team in training for the Olympic Games, and also in arranging team’s matches and other events held by the RBF. The Sponsorship Agreement was signed for the period of the team’s training for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

"For several years the Bank has been actively supporting the Russian sport and the RBF. Our cooperation with the national women’s basketball team is sure to contribute to future Olympic victories and Russian athletes will perform well at various international playgrounds", said Vasily Titov, VTB Deputy Chairman.

During 2008 VTB was a general sponsor of the Russian women’s basketball team and supported it in training for the Olympic Games in Beijing, where the team won bronze medals.
