OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2008. Metalloinvest acquired a 99,01% share of "The City institution for designing metallurgical plants" (Gipromez LLC), reported the press-centre of Metalloinvest.

The company’s experience in elaboration and realization of the projects on technical revamping and construction of the new steelmaking facilities will contribute to the realization of the new investment projects implemented by Metalloinvest.

As Maxim Gubiev, General Director of Metalloinvest Management Company, has noticed - “The Holding has a long-standing partnership with Gipromez. The institute was responsible for the project of construction of OEMK. The institute’s specialists also contributed to the modernization of EAF Shop and Plate Rolling Mill that have been launched at Ural Steel in November 2008.” 

Currently Gipromez’s experts are working on new projects to be launched by Metalloinvest in the nearest future. Namely, they elaborate a project of two new production facilities construction at the OEMK’s EAF Shop – the Ladle Furnace №3 and the vacuum degasser with an argon blow-down unit.

Maxim Gubiev particularly stressed that the integration of the Institute into the Holding’s structure would benefit the development of Russian engineering science and applied technologies for the steelmaking industry.
