OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2008. Cash security in the Armed Forces of Ukraine despite the economic recession is paid in full. Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yurii Yekhanurov told at the meeting with journalists before awarding ceremony of winners of the Child Picture National contest “How will I protect the Homeland”.

He assured that despite the complicated economic situation in the state and insufficiency of the defense budget, cash security to the military men and wages to the employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is properly paid.

“At present there are no reductions but some problems exist. Now we are investigating the situation in Feodosia where one “cunning” lawyer in 2007 brought a suit against the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Through the court he deprived the military unit of all money,” he noted.

Yurii Yekhanurov informed that Ministry of Defense of Ukraine makes a comparative analysis of wage payment to military men in 2008 and 2007 taking into account the inflation figures and the relevant information will be ready in the nearest future.

“We want that the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s stand on this subject to be clear. Every morning at official meetings the issue on cash security is considered as priority. We stand firm yet,” the Head of Defense Ministry of Ukraine stressed.
