OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2008. As the press service of the government of Moldova informs, this was announced by the Prime Minister of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii during the meeting with the head of the assessment mission of the European Department of the International Monetary Fund Graeme Justice.

She noted that in conditions of deepening global financial crisis, the Government of Moldova will seek solutions to make the republic more attractive for foreign investments being assisted by IMF recommendations.

The head of IMF mission Graeme Justice noted the correct policies of the Government and the National Bank of Moldova in 2008, which significantly mitigated the consequences of the global crisis for the Republic.

He said that Moldova is in better situation as regards economic growth and inflation indicators than the other countries of the region.

The IMF mission visited Moldova on December 4-15 for assessing performance of the governmental programs of cooperation with IMF, as well as coordination of memorandum on economic-financial policies of the Government and the National Bank of Moldova for 2009.
