OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2008. The Supervisory Board of Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant appointed Pavel Uzbek acting General Director, reported the press-centre of SCM. 

Earlier, on 9 December, 2008 the Supervisory Board of Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant (KhTZ) confirmed Alexey Borovikov`s tranfer from the post of acting General Manager to the post of Chief Technical Officer in accordance with his application.

Pavel Uzbek has two graduate degrees and a Ph.D. in Economics, and has wide experience working in Ukrainian mining and metals enterprises, Azovstal being a leader among them.

Confirmation of his role as the new General Manager will be made at the regular meeting of shareholders of KhTZ to be held next year.

"The new appointment at Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant is another stage of the strategic program for improvement of the corporate structure of Metinvest Group", said Jack MacLachlan, Director of the group’s Steel and Rolled Metal Division. “Strengthening of horizontal relations on the level of enterprises within division and with Azovstal in particular, makes it possible to reinforce the synergy benefits of the relationship between the two enterprises as Azovstal is the main supplier of semi-finished products for KhTZ".
