Kolenergo Finishes Maintenance of Petrozavodsk Area
OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2008. Karelenergo branch of IDGC of North-West, JSC finished the maintenance of 110 kV “Shuya” substation (the Republic of Karelia). Object’s putting into operation is planned for December 23 of the current year.
Alexander Kukhmay, General Director of IDGC of North-West, JSC and the Administration of the Karelia Republic were invited to the ceremony of “Shuya” substation launching.
Substation-21 “Shuya” was built and put into operation in 1066. By 2006 its amortization accounted for 100%. The installed equipment was worn out and obsolete.
In 2006 Karelenergo took the decision to carry out the maintenance of the substation to provide the reliability of power supply to the consumers with socially significant facilities and the housing sector among them
Maintenance project was developed in accordance with the state standards requirements, technical conditions, and other environment protection normative documents and endorsed by the Rostekhnadzor technical and ecological inspection Administration of the Republic of Karelia. New equipment installation at the substation substantially decreases the risk of the environment pollution.
Karelenergo branch of IDGC of North-West, JSC notes that the reconstruction of the given substation was necessary as far as it occupies the special place in power system infrastructure of Petrozavodsk and the District of Prionezhskiy. The substation is in the vicinity of Shuya village and is the main substation and power distribution for the majority of the Prionezhskiy District consumers. The reconstruction costs more than RUR 200 million.
