Ingosstrakh Advances Payment to Ship Owner
OREANDA-NEWS On 17 December was announced, that in November 2008 IJSC Ingosstrakh made an interim payment of EUR 106,300 as a prepayment to settle the costs of repairs of the main engine of rgw Clipper, a motor ship.
The Clipper, covered by Ingosstrakh under a hull insurance policy with liability for total loss and damage, was going from Sardinia to one of Croatian seaports when the turbo-driven supercharger failed. In order to conduct the repairs the vessel had to dock in Cagliari (Italy),
According to Vadim Siemenkov, Head of the Claims Settlement Administration of IJSC Ingosstrakh, in today’s financial turmoil many ship owners cannot afford to bear extraordinary costs to liquidate the damages. In such instances Ingosstrakh goes out to its client and renders all assistance and help it can to minimize further losses that may arise due to delays in the re-commissioning of the vessel.
