OREANDA-NEWS. December 15, 2008. Oskol elektrometallurgical plant (a subsidiary of Metalloinvest holding) is recognized “The leader of environmental activity in Russia” for the second time. The awarding of the contest’s winners took place in the State Kremlin palace, reported the press-centre of Metalloinvest.

OEMK was honored for successful implementation of the state environmental programs. The managing director of the plant Sergey Kretov was rewarded with a medal “Ecological guard of Russia”.

In June, 2008 Oskol elektrometallurgical plant took the first prize in the 7th contest "Metals and mining enterprise of high social responsibility" in the category "Environmental activity and resource saving technologies".
