Zarubezhneft Took Part in Hydrocarbons Round-Table Conference
OREANDA-NEWS On 16 December was announced, that Zarubezhneft representatives (Project Management Department) Stanislav Mihailov and Kirill Gorbachev participated in Hydrocarbons round-table conference which was conducted from 25th to 26th November 2008 by Ministry of Oil and Gas and Federal Trade Organization of India.
The event was attended by Minister of energy of Russian Federation Sergey Shmatko and Minister of oil and gas of India Murli Deora. During the session, participants learnt the condition of oil and gas industry in India and CIS sector as well as got acquainted with activities of the state owned and private companies in the field. Ministers discussed possible opportunities for cooperation among oil and gas sector in India, CIS and other countries.
During the meeting Zarubezhneft team talked about cooperation with Ministry of oil and gas of India as well as Indian industry giants such as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), ONGC Videsh Ltd., Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL)
JCS Zarubezhneft used to conduct operations in India in 1967 to 1990 fairly successful, but due to political and economic reforms in Russian Federation, cooperation between two countries was sealed. After 10 years of the long break the partnership is restored.
In 2003-2004 Zarubezhneft, with great effectiveness for the Indian side, completed the sidetracking project for four recently opened drillings near Assam oil field.
In present Zarubezhneft and ONGC study other service contracts that may take place in the near future.
