OREANDA-NEWS. December 15, 2008. DIRECTUM together with I.T. Co. completed the project for implementation of the electronic documents management system at OZNA. Initially EDMS (Electronic Documents Management System) spanned 85 users, but after the trial run a decision was made to automate more than 220 workstations.

OJSC “Joint-Stock Company ‘OZNA’” (OZNA) is involved in the complete equipment production cycle for the oil and gas industry — from design and manufacture to installation and startup. As the production volume grew the number of documents constantly increased. Therefore OZNA management made a decision to automate it.

The main requirements for the system were: high reliability, complex approach to data storage, possibility of using digital signature, data safety and total coverage of internal processes. Electronic documents and interface management system DIRECTUM matches these requirements perfectly. DIRECTUM and I.T. Co. were chosen as the executors for this project.

Initially the main accent in implementation of the electronic documents management system was made on automation of standard business-processes and operations with documents using the Basic modules and the Records management module. And when the project was already executed a decision was made to automate some jobs related to supporting the enterprise's quality management system. Mass training of OZNA employees was organized before putting the system into commercial operation.

Work with memos, orders and resolutions, issue of executive documents, registration of incoming and outgoing mail were turned to electronic form right after the system implementation. Development of the electronic documents management system at OZNA allowed for speeding up the delivery of documents to the addressees and shortening the documents approval time.
