PAVA Sees 74% Increase in Export Shipments
OREANDA-NEWS On 15 December was announced, that in November 2008, OJSC PAVA, one of major Russian grain processors, shipped record volumes of flour to its overseas partners. PAVA exported the largest consignment of grain processing products in the company’s history. November export shipments saw a 74% increase from the same period last year.
This growth was achieved due to concerted efforts in several areas of work. Firstly, the geography of sales was enlarged. The grain processor laid the basis for steady collaboration with Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. In November, PAVA products were shipped to Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Secondly, the company extended the range of goods sold overseas. Now, PAVA exports not only the traditional high and first-grade flour, but also protein-enriched vitaminised flour, semolina, buckwheat, peas, granulated and non-granulated bran. Last month, the company’s partners from neighbouring states received products of Mikhailovsky and Rebrikha flour mills (the Altay territory).
And thirdly, PAVA collaborates not only with wholesalers, but also with manufacturers of half-finished goods, pasta and confectionery.
“When we started developing markets of far and near abroad, we were mostly working with wholesalers, who distributed our products on local markets. Our flour received very positive feedback. Later, we included manufacturers in the list of partners, and have been receiving favourable response ever since”, commented Angela Kiseleva, OJSC PAVA Commercial Director.
It should be stressed that after 11 months in 2008 PAVA exceeded year total of export volumes in 2007 by 54%.
The increase of export shipments allows to remove significant volumes of product from the Russian flour market, which appears quite oversupplied, as well as increase profitability of the company’s business.
