OREANDA-NEWS. On December 08, 2008 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against "TARKETT RUS" CJSC for violating Part 3 Article 11 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (concerted actions). FAS Russia suspects that "TARKETT RUS" CJSC has coordinated economic activities of market actors, which has resulted in fixing and maintaining prices, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

"TARKETT RUS" CJSC is the market leader in floor covering in Russia, in the segment of elastic covering (including linoleum), with the market share 75%.

"TARKETT RUS" CJSC refused to present the documents required by FAS Russia in course of the inspection.

Also "TARKETT RUS" CJSC filed a claim to the Moscow Arbitration Court on invalidating the information request made by FAS Russia. The claimant stated that the request of the Antimonopoly Service was unlawful and imposed unlawful obligations upon the company. The Court dismissed the claim of "TARKETT RUS" CJSC.

The case will be heard in January 2009.
