Russia to Contribute to IAEA’s Non-Budgetary Fund 23mln RUR
OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2008. Russia will contribute to the non-budgetary fund of International Atomic Energy Agency 23mln RUR a year in 2008–2012 for implementation of plan of action under the international project on innovative reactors and nuclear fuel cycles. Relevant resolution was signed by Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin on Dec 8 20008, reports the press service of the Government of Russia.
The resolution is a step to implement the initiative of the President of Russia to resolve political, economic and ecological problems related that may guarantee stable energy supply in the world.
Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation has been instructed to coordinate Russia’s participation in the implementation of the above-mentioned plan of action in 2008–2012. Rosatom and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia have been instructed to control the use of Russia’s contributions.
In 2008–2012 Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation will have to pay the fees from the funds budgeted to it for expenses on international relations and international cooperation and contributions and fees to international organizations. Rosatom and the Ministry of Finance of Russia will have to consider the above-mentioned expenses when planning annual budgets.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has been instructed to support the international cooperation in the framework of the above-mentioned initiative and to inform competent representatives of foreign states about the results of this cooperation.
