OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2008. At Zainsk Condensation Plant have been reconstructed the cells of the outside switchgear (ORU) 500kV ВЛ-500 "ZaiGRES-Bugulma". The power engineering specialists replaced the aerial switches ВВ-500 with the SF6 ones of HPL-550 type produced by Swedish-Swiss concern "АВВ" with simultaneous replacement of the electro- mechanical devices RZA with the microprocessor ones produced by NPP "EKRA" Ltd (Cheboksary). It is planned to finish the remaining two cells ORU-500kV in 2009.

The replacement of the obsolete switches with the SF6 and gas switches is one of the basic dimensions of the Company program. The reconstruction of ORU would allow the JSC "Generation Company" save the fuel and power resources and increase significantly the reliability of operation of the plants and the required reliability of the transit flows between the Center and the Urals.

At Nizhnekamsk HPP finished reconstruction of the two cells of ORU-500kV. In the cells HL-500 "NizHPP-Udmurtskaya" aerial switches ВНВ-500 were replaced with the SF6 ones HPL-550 with the simultaneous replacement of the electro- mechanical devices RZA with the microprocessor ones produced by NPP "EKRA" Ltd. Also were commissioned the current transformers IМВ-500 produced by "АВВ" cncern.

It is worth saying that for the first time in the history of our power system at NizHPP were installed the inductive potential transformers produced by "RITZ MESSWANDLER" (Germany). Thus, inside the two years at the NizHPP was replaced aerial switch 500kV, which allowed to dismantle the high-cost and especially significant system of air pre-treatment including the compressor installations, receiver and the aerial distribution networks.
