Space Bio-Medicine Museum Opened in Voronezh
OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2008. Everybody knew about space dogs in 1960-s. Today space cocroaches get recognition in Voronezh.
The exposition which presents achievements of Russian radio-biology and space medicine is opened in Voronezh Medical Academy. The stands display devices and sensors used to monitor cosmonaut`s health in fight; on-board containers used to keep flies in orbit.
Experiments with different animals continue today. Rats and tortoises, mites and snails fly to space. It is necessary to study thier behaviour in order to make human space missions more safe.
Recently, in the framework of the `Cosmos Seen by Young People` contest, students from Voronezh offered to make a space experiment to study influence of the 0-g on the cocroaches. This project was implemented last year in the framework of the IBMP program.
