Russian PM Vladimir Putin has signed off on the government resolution “On Making Amendments to the Customs Tariff in Relation to Some Vehicles” , the government’s press service said. According to the document, import duties have been hiked for light vehicles and trucks and the deadline for classifying vehicles as second-hand has been reduced from seven to five years. As reported earlier, proposals for hiking import duties and reducing the threshold of operations were drafted as part of a set of measures to ease the consequences of the global financial crisis for the domestic automotive industry.
