OREANDA-NEWS. December 09, 2008. The Karachaevo-Cherkessia Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) fined the standalone division of "Mobilcom-Kavkaz" CJSC in Cherkessk for abusing dominant position, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In August 2008 the Karachaevo-Cherkessia OFAS inspected whether the economic entity complied with the antimonopoly regulations and revealed antimonopoly violations. "Mobilcom-Kavkaz" CJSC unreasonably fixed different prices for the same goods. For instance, "Mobilcom-Kavkaz" CJSC as a service provider set different prices within the same base rate rates for the out-coming calls within the network and to the network of other providers. Having recognized that the company violated the antimonopoly legislation, the Karachaevo-Cherkessia OFAS initiated an administrative case.

Upon processing the administrative case, the standalone division of "Mobilcom-Kavkaz" CJSC in Cherkessk was imposed the fine amounted to 1% of the proceeds in 2007 or 203 161 770 Rubles.
