OREANDA-NEWS  On 09 December was announced, that a settlement of cottages for large families will be commissioned in east Moscow by the end of 2008, Nikolay Evtikhiev, prefect of the eastern administrative district of Moscow, said.

The official noted that it would be the second settlement of cottages for families with five and more children in Moscow. The same mini-settlement was opened in southwest Moscow a month and a half ago.

“The settlement of cottages for large families is to be commissioned in Staroe Kosino by the end of 2008,” Mr Evtikhiev specified.

According to the prefect, the settlement will consist of 24 cottages with the total area of 5,000 sq m.

As it was reported earlier, every cottage is a two-storey six-room flat, there are 3 living rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom unit and a storeroom on the ground floor, 3 bedrooms, a bathroom and a cloakroom on the first floor. An average area of the flat is 200 sq m, at 22.3 sq m per person.

The flat will be given to a family for an unpaid use while it has the status of a large one.

The settlements of such a kind are to be built in 20 neighbourhoods within Moscow. Approximately USD 24 million have been allocated from the city budget for this purpose.
