Banker Magazine Announced Rosbank “Bank of the Year” in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS On 05 December was announced, that Rosbank won a British The Banker magazine’s “Bank of the Year Awards 2008” in the category “Bank of the Year in Russia”. The announcement was made at the Ceremony held in London, November 26, 2008.
“It’s a great honour for Rosbank to become The Banker’s Awards winner,” - Vladimir Golubkov, the Bank’s Chief Executive, noticed. “Despite the global turbulence, our forecast of growth and profits for 2008 are in line with expectations, and we look ahead with confidence. The bank’s large size has been put into effect. We have been in fortunate position of having such funding structure that gives us strength and sufficient independence from the markets.
Rosbank integration into the Societe Generale Group gives us new opportunities for further development, and this prestigious award is a clear indication of the right strategic direction we have chosen. The Banker magazine was founded in 1926. This year is The Banker's ninth annual commercial banking awards. It provides winners from 148 countries. This year around 500 banks from these countries submitted questionnaires to The Banker’s global judging team that reflects not only on the latest results, growth rates and performance data over the previous period contained in the questionnaires but also analyses of all available material examining technology, acquisitions and key strategic developments.
