Belarus Made Amendments to Regulation of Import and Export
OREANDA-NEWS. On December 02, 2008 President of the Republic of Belarus signed Decree No 660 introducing amendments and additions to Decree No 460 “On Measures of State Regulation of Import and Export of Specific Goods (Works, Services)” of 17 July 2006, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by.
This document unifies the Belarusian legislation with the legislation of the Russian Federation in the area of export control. OSCE recommendations were taken into account in the course of preparation of the document; the procedure of import (export) of specific goods (works, services) was improved.
The new Decree simplifies the procedures of identification of specific goods (works, services). The appropriateness of assigning goods to the category of specific goods shall be verified, if necessary, by the customs or other government body rather than by a legal entity or natural person applying for customs clearance.
The decree grants additional powers to oversee the sphere of circulation of specific goods (works, services) to the inter-agency commission for military and technical cooperation and export control under the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus, and State Military and Industrial Committee.
The Decree thus eases the Belarusian legislation in this sphere and liberalizes it in a number of areas.
