OREANDA-NEWS  On 03 December was announced, that the number of travelers insured by Ingosstrakh in 10 months 2008 exceeded 2.8 mln. According to preliminary statements, the size of written premium in travel insurance over 10 months 2008 exceeds RUR 600 mln, or 35% higher than in the first 10 months of 2007. The regional branches of the company account for RUR 105 mln of the total written premium. Experts believe that Ingosstrakh in the market of travel insurance taking up to 40% of the total written premium in this area.

Over the first 10 months of the year the company paid almost RUR 181 mln in insurance compensations. Ingosstrakh has settled over 18 thousand insurance claim. The largest claims are represented by the organization of medical treatment in Spain (Euro 30,000) and the fatality in Turkey (USD 15 thousand).

In 2008 Ingosstrakh has worked with more than 500 travel organizations, including Natali Tours, Capital Tour, Lanta Tour Voyage, Sopvex, Roza vetrov, TMR, Biblio-Travel and others.

According to Dmitry Sharlikov, Head of the Travel Insurance Division of IJSC Ingosstrakh, this year the company has noticed a more intense interest towards Ingosstrakh’s extended insurance programs on the part of private client and travel agencies. One of the major events of this year is the development and launch of new insurance products intended for private clients.
