OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2008. According to the data of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, over 9 months of 2008 general amount of reciprocal trade turnover with goods and services between Ukraine and the USA has increased as compared to 2007 by 91.2% (by USD 2.098 bn) and totaled USD 4.399 bn. Economics Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn announced.

In particular, export of Ukrainian goods and services to the USA has upped by 82.8% or by USD 897.7 bn and amounted USD 1.982 bn. Import of goods and services to Ukraine has upped almost twofold – by USD 1.2 bn and totaled USD 2.417 bn.

Showings of general trade turnover appear a proof of headlong growth of trade and economic cooperation – over 9 months of 2008 it has upped 2.17fold or by USD 1.956 bn and amounted USD 3.993 bn against 2007 showings.

At this, the Minister emphasized Ukraine’s export of goods to the US has increased twofold or by USD 791.9 mn and totaled USD 1.982 while import from the US has increased 2.25fold or by USD 1.164 bn and totaled USD 2.094 bn.

Bohdan Danylyshyn informed that over 9 months of 2008 the following export goods underwent general increase – ferrous metals – by USD 526.5 mn (2.2fold) and totaled 61.2% from general amount of export to the USA. Products of inorganic chemistry – increased by USD 166.6 mn (3.36fold) and totaled 15.1% in total export structure; ferrous metal products – by USD 98.9 mn (3.9fold increase) – 8.5% in overall export structure; fertilizers – by USD 10.45 mn (by 25.9%) – 3.2% in overall export structure; railway or tram locomotives – by USD 5.8 mn (by 56%).
