CCGT-410 MW Power Unit Will Enter Service in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS On 02 December was announced, that V.V. Gaevskiy, Governor of Stavropolskiy kray, Carlo Tamburi, Director of International Division of Enel SpA, Dominique Fache, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC OGK-5 and A.Y. Kopsov, General Director of JSC OGK-5, inaugurated the construction of the new 410 MW combined-cycle unit at Nevinnomysskaya GRES.
The new CCGT-410 MW power unit is scheduled to enter service in 2010. The total investment is expected to amount to around 400 million euros.
The installation of the new combined-cycle unit will permit to:
Cut carbon dioxide emissions by 5.4%
Cut nitrogen dioxide emissions by 6%
Reduce fuel consumption by 25 tons of equivalent fuel per hour
Increase installed electric capacity of Nevinnomysskaya GRES by 80 MW after the decommissioning of 330 MW of old capacity.
Under OGK-5’s investment plans for the 2008-2012 period, two combined-cycle units with a total capacity of 820 MW in Sredneuralskaya GRES and Nevinnomysskaya GRES are due to enter service by the end of 2010.
Carlo Tamburi emphasised that "with this second inauguration Enel is confirming its strategy to grow OGK-5 and its commitments in Russia, contributing to the development of the Stavropol region economy and of the energy sector. In Russia, Enel has built an integrated presence along the entire value chain, from raw materials to the generation and sale of electricity, creating a strategically important position in a market, which is undergoing liberalization, that is one of the largest in the world and promises an excellent return on our investment".
