IES-Holding Completed Formation of Divisional Structure
OREANDA-NEWS On 02 December was announced, that IES-Holding completed the formation of the divisional structure. Within six months the following six divisions were formed in IES corresponding to their lines of activity: Ural Generation, Central Generation, Volga Generation, Trading, Power Development and Retail. Each division is headed by an executive in the position of IES Executive Vice-President.
The decision to introduce a new business model in IES-Holding was taken in February 2008. This model includes generation (production of electric energy and heat, heat network), trading, retail (retail sale of electric energy, heat energy, gas), and construction of new generation facilities.
Generation business line incorporates three divisions: Ural Generation (Generating facilities of TGC-5 and TGC-9), Central Generation (TGC-6) and Volga Generation (TGC-7) which are headed accordingly by Andrey Makarov, Vyacheslav Kramarenko and Vladimir Dikop.
The Trading division's main functions comprise performance in the Russian electric power market and centralized fuel procurement for power stations, the division is headed by Eduard Smelov. The Power Development Division is responsible for implementation of investment projects of territorial generating companies and facilities renovation, the division is headed by Igor Golubev.
Gas distribution and sales businesses of IES are incorporated in the Retail division, which is headed by Andrey Pestov. This division incorporates five regional power sales companies and twelve gas distribution companies operating on the territory of Russia and Ukraine and also maintenance and service companies.
First Vice President and CEO of IES-Holding Andrey Shishkin is responsible for operational management of business divisions. "We create the management structure which is the most effective, provides the reliability of power supply, is profitable to company's shareholders and, at the same time, allows costs decreasing. Costs are the key issue for Russian power industry and their reduction is a key element of our future success." - Mr. Shishkin noted.
