OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2008. BTA Bank took part in the Investments into Stability Arab Banking Conference 2008 held in Beirut. The Union of Arab Banks acted as the arranger of the Conference, reported the press-centre of BTA Bank.

The Conference hosted more than 400 representatives of financial institutions of Lebanon, UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, Egypt, Iraq, Oman and other countries.

The event was intended to discuss development of capital markets in the Middle East and North Africa region, in particular, opportunities of successful and efficient operation under the world financial crisis both in the sphere of traditional banking services and in the Islamic finance.

In addition to their attendance of the Conference, representatives of BTA Bank held a number of meetings with leading financial institutions of the region, among which there were the National Bank of Egypt, Bank Muscat (Oman), Bank Audi (Lebanon). During the negotiations issues of cooperation on current transactions as well as further relationship development were discussed.
