Progress M-01M Successfully Docked to the ISS
OREANDA-NEWS. On November 30, 2008 Russian cargo vehicle Progress M-01M successfully docked with the International Space Station.
Progress M-01M is the first cargo vehicle of series 400; it is equipped with modern digital control systems. Progress` mission to the ISS was extended intentionally: within 4 days, experts were verifying proper functioning of the Progress M-01M systems.
MCC made a decision to switch to manual control mode (TORU) during final rendezvous stage. This was caused by some anomalies in the relative motion parameters. TORU mode was carried out sucessfully by Yury Lonchakov, ISS-18 flight engineer. ISS/Progress contact occurred at 15:28:10 Moscow time (12:28:10 GMT).
Progress M-01M delivered about 2.5 t of cargo to the station, including propellant, food and water, scientific equipment, and personal crew parcels with New-Year gifts.
