OREANDA-NEWS  On 01 December was announced, that Sibirtelecom held a press conference in Krasnoyarsk where the company presented the program of digitalization of the territory’s telecommunication networks. The company plans to convert Krasnoyarsk to entirely digital by the end of 2009. At the moment the telephone network of Sibirtelecom, OJSC has more than 60 thousand ports of crossbar-type ATS.

The first phase of implementation will be the replacement of crossbar stations by the digital ones from January 12, 2009 through March 08, 2009, which will significantly improve the quality and expand the list of additional services. Also in the beginning of 2009 the cable network will go through large-scale reconstruction.

As noted by Nikolay Grishko, Director of Krasnoyarsk branch of Sibirtelecom, OJSC, “Reequipment should be a consistent process. Time never stops. New technologies keep coming in. And we are glad that in the nearest future all Krasnoyarsk will have access to the latest technologies on very high quality level.

These large-scale works will include partial replacement of 36000 numbers of subscribers whose telephone numbers start from 234, 222, 223, 2220, 2260, 2265, 2490, 2630, 2637, and partially 2470, 2471, 243, 244. Two months before the time of replacement the subscribers received written notifications. Autoinformator will notify them the day before the replacement.
