OREANDA-NEWS  On 01 December was announced, that the number of broadband subscribers of Sibirtelecom, OJSC reached 360 thousand. By the end of 2008 the company intends to increase the subscriber base of Webstream to 432 thousand.

This year Sibirtelecom increased the number of Webstream subscribers 1.8 times (as of January 01, 2008 – 200 thousand) Over the year the company showed dynamic growth in the segment of Internet access services of хDSL and ETTH technologies. 84% of Webstream subscribers are individuals.

“In 2008 Sibirtelecom staked on development of broadband Internet access services and package offers including Internet access, – noted Dmitry Kurilov, Commercial Director of Sibirtelecom, OJSC. – High dynamics of growth of the number of subscribers is connected with objective market situation, demand for these services, and also the policy of systematic tariff reductions”.

The majority of Webstream subscribers in 2008 have been connected in Novosibirsk region and Altai territory (34.5 thousand and 27.4 thousand respectively), which can be explained by high demand for Internet-services in those regions, active sales, and new offers to satisfy the demand.
