Roscosmos Defined Locations for Facilities of New Space Port
OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2008. The Reconnoitring Board has been working in mid-end of November in Amurskaya region in order to clarify the locations for the Vostochny new facilities. The Board consisted of the representatives of the TSENKI (Space Ground-Based Facility Operation Center) Federal Entity, Russian Spetsstroy, TSNIIMASH Federal Entity and other organizationa and companies.
The Board defined locations and sited to be further investigated in 2009-2010. Vostocchny is planned to comprise about 50 facilities, including launch pads for human, commercial, cargo spacecraft launchers. Further investigation activities will cover studies of the environment for construction of the primary space port facilities to be used for scientific, dual-use, commercial spacecraft processing and launch.
