Government of Ukraine Forms List of Infrastructure Projects
OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2008. The Government is forming a package of infrastructure projects implementation of which allows to minimize the impact of global financial crisis on Ukraine. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko told at the beginning of the Gov’t sitting. The Head of Government noted that this package would be implemented within 5 years.
Yulia Tymoshenko noted that yesterday at the meeting with representatives of the fuel and energy complex 14 priority investment projects had been approved UAH 58 billion of total cost, including UAH 14.9 billion appropriated for 2009.
According to the Head of Government, 62 projects have been defined at the sum of UAH 6.6 billion in the coal branch. Yulia Tymoshenko informed that on Monday infrastructure projects in the sphere of road-building and the Ministry of Transport on the whole are to be considered.
The PM has commissioned the profile ministries to prepare a complete list of infrastructure projects, implementation of which allows to minimize the impact of global financial crisis, “This is our strategy to protect Ukraine from the global financial crisis and our way out of the grave situation Ukraine is facing now”.
At the same time the Prime Minister has commissioned the Economics Ministry to summarize these projects to have an opportunity for launching talks with diplomatic corps of the European states and investors of these countries whom Ukraine is inviting to join these projects. “I hope that every minister is competent enough to evolve this work because this is the main point of your work in such difficult period of economic recession in the world,” Yulia Tymoshenko said.
