OREANDA-NEWS  On 26 November was announced, that the Russian ruble may become a regional currency; the Belarusian government has instructed the National Bank to provide loans in Russian rubles, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said during the Belarus Investment Forum in London.

Earlier, presidents of Belarus and Russia addressed the use of the Russian rubles as a regional currency, Sidorsky said.

He went on to say that the matter was discussed on November 14 with Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

The central bank has been instructed to start crediting supplies using Russian rubles in order to have a stable supply of rubles.
