OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2008. In January-September 2008, accommodation facilities were visited by 232,9 thousand of tourists or 11,6% less.

According to the National bureau of statistics, 178,6 thousand (76,7 %) of them are local and 54,3 thousand (23,3 %) - foreign tourists.

Thus the decrease in number of tourists is due to smaller amount of tourists accommodated in the country houses and other structures of rest (49 %), hostels (48 %), hotels and motels (0,6 %) as well as the last year’s flood.

The majority of the tourists has been placed in hotels and motels – 85,6 thousand persons, tourist and agro-tourist rest houses – 10 thousand, hostels – 13 thousand, recreation facilities – 26,3 thousand, summer camps – 71,4 thousand, tourist country houses and other structures of rest – 26,5 thousand.

The majority of visitors arrived from Romania - 21,1 %, Russia – 11,2 %, Ukraine – 10,4 %, Italy – 6,8 %, Turkey – 6,1 %, Germany – 5,8 % and USA – 4,6 %.

In January-September, 2008, average occupancy in accommodation structures made 44,5 %: 76,3 %- in recreation establishments, 71,7%-in the summer camps , 60,4% in hostels, 30,1%- in tourist and agro-tourist rest houses, 22,7% in hotels and motels–22,7 % and 13,8%-in tourist country houses and other structures of rest.

Average duration of stay in accommodation facilities makes 7,3 days: 16 days in recreation establishments, 10,5 days in the summer camps, 8,2 days in hostels, 6,1 days in tourist and agro-tourist rest houses, 3,7 days in tourist country houses and other structures of rest and 3 days in hotels and motels.
