AUB Supports Child Academy
OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2008. AUB’s educational initiatives may serve as a good example to follow: Child’s Academy”Altyn Shaty” will continue its unique activities, reported the press-centre of AUB.
A well-known Presidential Child’s Academy ”Altyn Shaty” had one old and prosy problem - a battered and leaky roof that needed general overhaul. But the Academy didn’t have own funds for a costly renovation. And then the director of the Academy, Polina Abramovna Tsokurenko, People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, decided to seek help from AsiaUniversalBank. Having a reputation not only for good financial showing but for its charity, the Bank readily responded to the request.
“Altyn Shaty” is a unique educational establishment, combining standard requirements of general school with advanced English language study and unique aesthetic study program, aimed at revealing and developing children’s talents. “Altyn Shaty” is not just a school but a friendly team, even a family, where boys and girls spend all day long. And it is very important that children feel comfortable at school, because school may be called “the second home” of a child.
“The students of our school intensively study foreign languages, practice music and choreography, paint, and act in the drama club. They have a lot of opportunities to develop their native inborn capabilities. And, of course, we try to introduce into study practice as much innovations in teaching methodology as it is possible”, told us Polina Abramovna. ”We try to give our children chances to communicate with prominent people: authors, musicians and public leaders. Every month we carry out so called “Children’s philharmonic” for our students. I tell them about well-known composers and their music. We invite celebrities to perform at our school”.
Honestly, even our short visit to the Academy helped us to receive evidence that “Altyn Shaty” students are notable for their high intellectual and cultural level. It is a well know fact, that some of the graduates of the Academy more than once became laureates of international contest in Italy, Israel, France, Switzerland and Turkey. Fresh news: Leila Asanbekova, a student of “Altyn Shaty”, became a winner of an international pianist competition in Byelorussia.
“On behalf of “Altyn –Shaty” Academy I’d like to thank AsiaUniversalBank and personally the chair of the Board of Directors, Michael Nadel, for the financial support. Our building had needed roof repair for a long time, but the overhaul required a substantial expense- about 1.7 million soms. We could not afford such expenditures. Then we decided to seek help from AsiaUniversalBank. The Bank covered all expenses for the repairs, and soon the building of “Altyn Shaty” would get a new life”, expressed her gratitude Polina Abramovna.
“The Presidential Academy “Altyn -Shaty” is a very good initiative in the sphere of education and culture. The Academy raises new talents, which will remain in the history of the state. Students of Academy are gifted children due to whose efforts people abroad will learn more about Kyrgyzstan; the students of “Altyn-Shaty” take active participation in international cultural dialogue. AsiaUniversalBank always pays special attention to support of culture and education, and in this case we just couldn’t stay aside. First of all, children must be provided with comfort and good conditions for study as minimum, and teachers are responsible for the rest.
Mikhail Nadel has been the Chair of the Board of Directors of AsiaUniversalBank since 2000. Heading AUB, he made a lot of efforts to support culture and art in Kyrgyzstan. In particular, he initiated such large - scale cultural projects as: restoration of Semyon Chuikov’s pictures, publication of a unique book “XX-XXI. Art in Kyrgyzstan”, a renovation of exhibition hall in Kyrgyz National Fine Arts Museum after G. Aitiev, and many others.
