German Bank to Increase Investments in Uzbekistan
OREANDA-NEWS. On November 24, 2008 The global financial crisis has no such great impact on Uzbekistan compared with other CIS member countries, the head of the German Commerzbank's representative office in Tashkent, Helmut Fischer [transliterated], has told journalists, a Regnum news agency correspondent has reported.
"Despite the global financial crisis, we can say with confidence that our bank will be able to increase amounts of investments in Uzbekistan, including investing in projects. At the moment we are discussing a textile project and a project on processing plastic bottles," the head of the German bank's representative office [in Tashkent] said.
He also said that they had to reduce their company's activities in developing countries due to the global financial crisis.
