LitPol Link Supervisory Board Appointed New Management Board
OREANDA-NEWS On 25 November was announced, that the Supervisory Board, in the accordance to the shareholders nominations, appointed the Management Board of LitPol Link.
Mr Jaroslav Neverovic has been appointed the CEO of LitPol Link. Mr Neverovic graduated from Warsaw School of Economics (Szkoіa Gіуwna Handlowa w Warszawie) in 2001 receiving a Master of Science degree in International Economic and Political Relations. He has practical experience in banking including employment in Citibank in 1999-2001. From 2001 he was employed on various positions in Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lithuania, being Vice-Minister from September 2006.
Mr Andrzej Kurpiewski has been appointed the Deputy CEO of LitPol Link. Mr Kurpiewski graduated from Technical University of Warsaw in 1993 receiving a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. In 2008 he received MBA from Business School of Warsaw University of Technology and London Business School. Mr Kurpiewski has gained wide experience in power network projects as the project manager for over 11 years in EPC S.A. In 2007 he supervised the Feasibility Study on the power link between Poland and Lithuania prepared by EPC S.A. for the Polish Energy Group S.A.
“The assignment given to the new Board is to complete the preparatory works for the construction of the interconnector Alytus – Elk in the middle of 2009, allowing for the decision making on the line route and technical characteristics before the end of 2009, with the possible beginning of the line construction on spring 2010”, says Prof. Wladyslaw Mielczarski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. According to him, the newly elected Management Board has adequate competence and experience deemed necessary for the implementation of the project designated as a priority project of the European Union. The construction of the line Alytus-Elk could cost approx. EUR 237 million.
The new Management Board will start its activities on 1 December of the current year.
LitPol Link is the joint venture established by Lietuvos Energija AB (the subsidiary of the national investor LEO LT) and PSE – Operator S.A. (Poland) with an aim to implement the power bridge project between the power systems of both countries.
