MSICH and TIANLI Reach Agreement on Repair of Engines for Airplanes
OREANDA-NEWS On 21 November was announced, that the Motor Sich company (MSICH), the largest producer of aircraft engines and gas turbines in the Commonwealth of Independent States, reached agreement with the Tianli company (China) on licensed repair of the AI-25TLK engines of K-8J airplanes belonging to the Chinese Air Force. Motor Sich and Tianli signed the relevant contract at the China Air Show 2008, which took place in Zhuhai (China) from November 4 to 9. K-8J airplanes are produced in China, and there are used as training airplanes by the Chinese Air Force. AI-25TLK engines are intended for K-8J airplanes and other training aircraft in many countries. The engines are equipped with a special lubricant system that allows them to operate normally in zero and negative gravity. Motor Sich reported a net profit of UAH 207.126 million for the year 2007, when its net revenues increased by UAH 511.631 million or 41.32% to UAH 1,749.747 million compared with 2006. The Harant Invest company (Zaporizhia) owns 46.29% of the shares in Motor Sich, which is an open joint-stock company, and Motor Sich Director-General Viacheslav Bohuslaev owns 14.983%. Motor Sich produces engines for Mi-8, Mi-17, and KA-226 helicopters as well as engines for Аn-70, Аn-124, Аn-140, Аn-148, and Yak-130 airplanes.
