Antidumping Investigation Launched Against Ukrainian Tubes
OREANDA-NEWS On 21 November was announced, that the European Commission launched the antidumping investigations against square and rectangular tubes imported from Ukraine, Belarus and Turkey. The formal reason is that import of these tubes cause damage to the European producers of similar products.
The investigation was initiated based on application filed September 29 by committee on protection of Steel Welded Pipes Association. The investigated period is October 1, 2007 – September 30, 2008. It is expected that the investigation will be finalized within 15 months since publication of the announcement in the EC official journal. Meanwhile, the preliminary measures may be introduced not later than in 9 months.
We would like to remind the reader that the key producers of these tubes are Dniprovsk Kominterna Steel (PFTS: DMZK) and Lugansk Tubes.
