OREANDA-NEWS  On 21 November was announced, that according to the State Statistics Committee (SSCU), real GDP grew 5.8% y/y in 10M2008 (7.3% in 10M2007), though decreased by 2.1%, m/m in October, the first fall in the last three years. The GDP level amounted to USD 138.4bn in 10M2008 (USD 111.1bn in 10M2007).The highest growth rates were in agriculture (18.3%, y/y) and transport and communications (10.4%, y/y) in 10M2008. While wholesale and retail trade slowed from 9.4%, y/y in 9M2008 to 6.3%, y/y in 10M2008. A significant deterioration was seen in the growth rates of construction (-12.7%, y/y). Manufacturing continued its deceleration, reducing its growth from 5.9%, y/y in 9M2008 to 2.9%, y/y in 10M2008.
