OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2008. All branches of power should unite efforts to counteract raidership. First Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov stated at a session of the Interdepartmental commission on counteraction to illegal takeover and seizure of enterprises.

“Unification of efforts of the Government, Verkhovna Rada, law-enforcement authorities, judicial branch should give a real result and raidership won’t be shielded by legislative gaps any more and considered as ordinary business,” Oleksandr Turchynov said.

At the same time the First Vice Prime Minister emphasized the necessity to perfect work of courts in connection with the facts of raidership as the number of such decisions is not decreasing, in addition, the matter concerns not only takeover of privately owned enterprises and joint-stock companies recently but public institutions and village councils.

The First Vice Prime Minister informed about the creation of a standing group under the Cabinet of Ministers and regional state administrations for handling the citizens’ appeals and enterprises concerning raidership. According to Oleksandr Turchynov, appeal analysis testifies the increase of raider takeovers of lands and agroindustrial enterprises where these issues are not legislatively regulated. The First Vice Prime Minister also said that Odesa region takes a lead in raider attacks on enterprises.

Moreover, Oleksandr Turchynov informed that Ministry of Internal Affairs along with the State Committee for entrepreneurship will withdraw licenses of private guard structures for participation in coercive takeovers of enterprises.
