OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2008. Empils and DuPont started the joint project on evaluation of quality of paints and varnishes present at the Russian market. The project includes testing of products of Empils and paints and varnishes of other manufacturers. Meanwhile Empils carries out expert testing of samples at focus-groups and also atmospheric testing. Laboratory examinations of coatings are conducted according to ISO international procedures in the Russian Technical Center "DuPont Titanium Technologies".

At the first stage of project performance the analysis of products most popular in the Russian market — universal alkyd enamel (53 samples) and floor alkyd enamel (11 samples) — was conducted. In the long term it is planned to increase the number of tested product types by including water-dispersion paints and varnishes in them.

Owing to cooperation with DuPont, Empils gets an opportunity to obtain regular independent evaluation of its products quality and to use it for improvement of formula of produced paints and varnishes as well as during new products development. Being the manufacturer of high-quality raw material components, DuPont in its turn gets an opportunity to conduct objective assessment of the Russian decorative coatings market.
