Oil Export via Port Primorsk Up 0.5% in Jan-Oct 08
OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2008. In January-October 2008, Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” LLC (Leningrad Region, subsidiary of Transneft company) increased oil export by 0.5%, year-on-year, to 62.415.9 million tonnes, Administration of Big Port of St. Petersburg states. In the reported period, ship turnover in the port of Primorsk amounted to 1,149 units.
Port Primorsk was put into operation on December 27, 2001 as the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk and West-Siberian oil-and-gas provinces as well as from Kazakhstan. PBS’s annual capacity as of the date of commissioning was 12 million tonnes. In 2003 PBS’s capacity was increased to 30 million tonnes of oil per year. Today its capacity is 65 million tonnes.
