OREANDA-NEWS  On 20 November was announced, that On 12 November, Opening and Presentation of the Training and Research Center of Irkutskenergo Irkutsk State Technical University (CTRC) took place in Irkutsk.

The CTRC (Corporate Training and Research Center) was founded under the Order of the Rector of Irkutsk State Technical University (ISTU) according to the decision of the ISTU Academic Council on the basis of the contract about cooperation with JSC Irkutskenergo for the purpose of attraction on a voluntary basis of talented and promising students of the ISTU power faculty for training of power industry experts in additional knowledge and skills.

Now there is a problem of discrepancy and isolation of preparation of graduates from real needs of modern business. The labour market does not provide a due skill level and necessary quantity of experts that increases the value of a possible mistake due to the fault of the personnel, and also expenses for their training and retraining.

For the purpose of the maximal taking into account the modern requirements to training and retraining of the experts working with the electric power sector, in June 2008 the Corporate Training and Research Center was established on the basis of Irkutsk Technical University.

The center has good equipment, programs of training developed to meet the requirements of JSC Irkutskenergo. The CTRC organizes target preparation of students (the three-year duration training) at the university (studies from the 3rd to the 5th courses of studies) on the additional educational programs developed by the ISTU faculty together with highly skilled experts of JSC Irkutskenergo.

In the current studying year, the Center realizes additional educational programs in the following directions:

"Electric Power Industry" with the profound study in the field of relay protection and electric automatic equipment;

"Thermal Power Industry" with the profound study in:

-Use of heat engineering equipment and thermal networks;

-Repairs of heat engineering equipment and thermal networks.

Opening of the center will allow to raise training efficiency system and enlarge industrial practical activities of students, and also their adaptation at the enterprise; to satisfy the need for qualified personnel of certain professions which meet the requirements of innovative development and modern "know-how"

According to the General Director of JSC Irkutskenergo Andrey Konovalov, now there is a big break between the theory and practice in the power industry. According to the volume of knowledge, quality of professional development, the personnel potential of the Company should correspond to the world level of professional training. Opening of the corporate educational center will allow to eliminate this gap. The high degree of the competence of graduates of the educational center will be demanded not only in Irkutskenergo company, but will also be appreciated by any power enterprise of the country.
