Oil production
The production of the oil companies in the Republic of Tatarstan in October amounted to 2,672,949 tons of crude oil accounting for 100.5% versus the month of October of 2007. The crude oil production for the period of ten months amounted to 27,057,278 tons or 101.3% versus the same period of the last year, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

OAO TATNEFT produced 2,109,657 tons of crude oil in October with the above-the-plan production amounting to 35,440 tons of crude oil (101.7%). The amount of 2,053,977 tons of crude oil was delivered, while the above-the-plan delivery amounted to 36,777 tons of crude oil.

OAO TATNEFT produced 21,631,833 tons of crude oil during ten months of the year with the amount of 75,429 tons of crude oil in excess of the amount produced during the similar period of the previous year (100.35%). The above-the-plan production amounted to 303,337 tons of crude oil (101.4%). The best results were achieved by NGDUs Elkhovneft (103.0%), Yamashneft (102.0%), and Almetyevneft (101.7%). The amount of 21,105,761 tons of crude oil was delivered while the above-the-plan delivery amounted to 303,261 tons of crude oil.

Drilling
The information about drilling activities for the period of ten months is provided taking into account the operation of OOO Tatneft-Burenye Management Company for the first quarter and operation of the new entity OOO UK (Management Company) Tatburneft (starting April 1, 2008).

Of the total amount of 641 thousand meters drilled during the period of ten months 406 thousand meters were penetrated for OAO TATNEFT including 364  thousand meters of production drilling, 42 thousand meters of exploratory drilling; 28 thousand meters for the affiliated companies of OAO TATNEFT, including 18 thousand meters of production drilling and 10 thousand meters of exploratory drilling; and 207 thousand meters for the joint ventures and independent oil companies, including 169 thousand meters of production drilling and 38 thousand meters of exploratory drilling.

403 wells were constructed and handed over to customers and out of this amount 249 wells were constructed for OAO Tatneft, including 228 production wells with a number of exploratory wells amounting to 21; 14 wells, including 10 production wells and 4 exploratory wells were drilled for the affiliated companies of OAO TATNEFT; 140 wells were constructed for the joint ventures and independent oil companies, including 119 production wells and 21 exploratory wells.

86.3% of the total panned volume of drilling for 2008 were fulfilled during the period of ten months.

Well drilling operations with application of traditional drilling techniques were performed by 47 drilling crews. Besides one drilling crew performed underbalanced drilling of one well for NGDU Bavlyneft. Of this total number of the drilling crews one drilling crew performed drilling of the fifth exploratory well for OAO Podzemburgaz Company under the program of the Republic of Tatarstan for construction of the underground gas storage facility.

There are seven drilling crews operating in the territory of the Samara District and one drilling crew performs construction of an exploratory well in the Orenburg District for ZAO Tatneft-Severny. 78.8 thousand meters were penetrated in horizontal wells and multilaterals. 36.6 thousand meters were penetrated outside of the Republic of Tatarstan from the beginning of the year.

The penetration per one drilling crew amounted to 13,361 meters for the period of 10 months.

Workovers and EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery)
840 well remedial works were performed during the month of October, while 8,012 well remedial works were performed from the beginning of the year.

2,212 wells were worked over during the period of ten months including the production string sealing in 305 wells; shutting-off individual layers and recompletion in other intervals in 268 wells; transfer of the wells into different categories and wells completion for injection in 144 wells; failure liquidation and cleaning of the electrical cable and bottom hole in 264 wells; physical well abandonment and re-abandonment in 55 wells.

570 wells were worked over with application of coil tubing (61 wells in October), which accounts for 8% increase versus a similar period of 2007, including 124 wells worked over through the annulus (11 wells in October).

Formation hydrofracking operations were performed at 103 wells (4 wells in October), and ГПП was performed at 1 well. The cumulative incremental recovery amounted to 2,338 thousand tons of crude oil.

18 small diameter wells were drilled and completed during the period of January-October: 10 wells in NGDU Almetyevneft, 6 wells in NGDU Prikamneft and 2 в wells in NGDU Jalilneft. There are 2 wells in the process of drilling now in NGDU Almetyevneft now.

Works on oil recovery enhancement were performed at 1,863 wells (103% to the plan) (213 wells in October) including the chemical treatment methods applied at 1,119 wells (102% to the plan) (116 wells in October).

The incremental oil production resulting from application of the enhanced oil recovery methods amounted to 4,319 thousand tons or 103% to the plan during the period of six months with the chemical methods accounting for 2,048 thousand tons or 102% to the plan.

ООО "Tatneft-ChimService" Company performed 2,301 operations for acid compositions preparation and delivery.

ООО "Tatneft-ChimService" Company produced 28 thousand 773 tons of chemical products during the period of ten months in 2008 for the amount of 587 million rubles.
