OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2008. The objective of the event was to improve the interaction of defense and security agencies and other concerned departments of Rostov region in preventing and responding to acts of terrorism and implementing the measures stipulated by the anti-terror law. 

It was a scheduled exercise. It was aimed at improving the fighting capacity of all local forces and to enhance their preparedness to timely respond to possible acts of terrorism and to effectively overcome their consequences.

The exercise was part of the complex of measures for enhancing the anti-terror protection of Volgodonsk NPP and the population of the nearby area. The exercise involved the management and the staff of the plant and the security forces of Volgodonsk.

Director of Volgodonsk NPP A.Palamarchuk said that during the exercise the plant was operating according to the schedule – safely and efficiently. The radiation background is within norm.
