Sales of New SsangYong C200 Crossover Start in End of 2009
OREANDA-NEWS On 17 November was announced, that sales of new SsangYong C200 crossover start in the end of 2009. This was announced by the General Director of OJSC “SOLLERS” Vadim Shvetsov on the joint briefing with Managing Director of Overseas sales H.Q. at SsangYong Motor Co Mr. Lim on Paris Motor Show, where took place the world premier of concept C200. As Vadim Shvetsov said, SOLLERS, being an official partner of SsangYong in Russia, at first plans to import the new model and in the middle of 2010 the C200 production will be launched in Tatarstan. Investment in the model production, taking into consideration necessity of new welding equipment installation, may amount to 5-6 million US dollars, and the production capacity is about 35 thousand vehicles a year, as C200 will be positioned in the most popular compact city crossover class.
Let us remind that Ssang Yong Motor Co presented at the Paris Motor Show the concept of new compact crossover C200, which will become one of the foundational models in company’s renewed line-up. New crossover C200, developed with the use integral body technologies, will be launched in Korean production in 2009. Urban style of C200 is targeted at young audience: the crossover is developed considering citizens’ needs emphasizing comfort, elegance, and the most effective use of interior space. The vehicle attracts attention to exquisite details, however it remains mostly intelligible to mainstream audience. Traditionally, the new crossover preserves all characteristics and features inherent to all Ssang Yong models – secure engines (new 2-liter diesel engine and new 1.8-liter TDI engine) and transmissions, high quality of interior trim, absolute safety. C200 length is 4.400 mm, what puts it in one line with popular crossovers Toyota RAV-4, Honda CR-V and other. However the vehicle differs from analogs due to enlarged wheelbase (2640 mm), which guarantees passengers higher comfort rate. Excellent vehicle characteristics are also achieved by adapted to European customers suspension, permanent all-wheel drive and six-speed gearbox. Using aluminum alloys in making suspension details provides lower gravity center position for reaching optimal drivability and deriving pleasure from driving. In addition, C200 is an ecological and safe vehicle, which passes the standards of CO2 emission and Euro V.
