OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2008. S7 Airlines increased the free carry-on baggage allowance on all of the company’s own flights. Now economy-class passengers can carry on board the airplane carry-on baggage weighing up to 7 kg, up from 5 kg, reported the press-centre of S7 Airlines.

In addition, carry-on baggage is no longer included in the free carry-on baggage allowance but is rather supplemental to it. Thus, economy-class passengers may transport 20 kg of checked baggage and 7 kg of carry-on baggage. The maximum dimensions of a single piece of carry-on baggage are still 55x40x20 cm.

The carry-on allowance for S7 Airlines business-class passengers is twice that of economy-class, i.e., 2 bags weighing up to 7 kg each. The checked baggage allowance for business-class passengers is 30 kg.

“We made the changes in response to numerous requests from our passengers and because we will be launching a new check-in service at the main airports in the near future. Passengers with carry-on baggage will be able to check-in in a matter of minutes by using a special kiosk,” says S7 Airlines Commercial Director Vadim Besperstov.
